Congratulations to Lab’Hôpital, a Thales Foundation winning project

The Thales Foundation presented a cheque to Clément de Foucauld, sponsor of the winning Lab’Hôpital project by L’Ecole à l’Hôpital, at a ceremony with Philippe Duhamel on Tuesday 17 April. Congratulations to the whole team for this opportunity to come together and celebrate!

The Thales Foundation represents Thales’s “Going Social” initiative, which is a key component of our Ambition 10 strategy, alongside Going Global and Going Digital, and provides an excellent way to promote Diversity and Inclusion within the Group by highlighting employee engagement with their local communities.

Clément de Foucauld, export sales manager for DMS in Elancourt, gave a passionate presentation of the Lab’Hôpital project he is sponsoring at the Elancourt site with the association L’Ecole à l’Hôpital.

The project focuses on teaching science through experimentation to students hospitalised at the nearby Bullion paediatric care and recovery centre. “Helping to organise this project is a great joy for me,” said Clément de Foucauld, “It will help increase the visibility of L’Ecole à l’Hôpital and the Thales Foundation by helping children who have had difficult lives succeed and blossom with more confidence in the future.”

For over 85 years, L’Ecole à l’Hôpital has offered free individual lessons to patients aged 5 to 25, with the belief that continuing one’s education is an essential part of life, a fundamental right and a step in a young patient’s healing process. A total of 4,476 young patients have received 22,648 lessons taught by 505 volunteer teachers. Joséphine Piat, director of L’Ecole à l’Hôpital, explained the association’s mission and thanked Clément for his commitment to a wonderful project.

The ceremony ended with the official presentation of the cheque to L’Ecole à l’Hôpital by the Thales Foundation, represented by Pia Ceccaldi, in the presence of Philippe Duhamel.
