After the Foundation’s third call for projects, eight new projects sponsored by Thales employees have been selected to receive Foundation support for one year.
After careful analysis of the 57 project applications submitted by employees in 13 different countries, the Foundation’s selection committee chose eight winning projects.
Sponsored by employees in France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates and the US, the winning projects aim to help 15,000 beneficiaries in six countries: India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Côte d’Ivoire, the US and France.
Six of the winning projects focus on education, aiming to counter and reverse the impact of social and economic inequality on academic success by teaching children about entrepreneurship, digital technology and computers. Two disaster risk prevention projects will also be implemented in Sri Lanka and Nepal, with the aim of helping local communities prepare for natural disaster risks in order to limit human and material losses.
Analysed based on 10 key criteria, all of these projects are aligned with the Foundation’s focus areas and terms of reference, offer innovative solutions, both locally and internationally, will have a significant, positive social impact on beneficiaries (in terms of the number of beneficiaries or the quality of the impact), demonstrate strong organisation and project management, and are capable of meeting the needs identified with available resources.
